If you’ve ever had the chance to speak to Debra and she’s a lovely lady you might have picked up a ‘accent’ that alludes to the fact that she’s not from around here in Templepatrick but further afield.

No… not Ballymena but from Durban the third-most populous city in South Africa, after Johannesburg and Cape Town where she was a music teacher specialising in Musical Theatre production… hows that for a career change !

Perhaps we could encourage Debra to produce a famous musical show with the extended family of staff members in the cast .. what show I wonder but definitely one of the classics I think.. maybe ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ ..sorry couldn’t resist but please add your own suggestions here!

I digress …Debra now lives in Ballyclare and that is where her daughter Chantal lives with two of Debra’s four grandchildren .. a girl and a boy. Debra loves to travel so her role in Mountain Warehouse is ideal as she really knows how to ‘pack light’ as she is a frequent visitor back to her homeland in South Africa to meet up again with family and friends. But her travels do not just extend to South Africa as her son Gareth lives in Brisbane, Australia with a further two grandchildren .. once again a boy and a girl
