Jonathan Rea, MBE, Superbike World Champion in 2015, 2016 , 2017 and again in 2018 paid us a visit here at Coleman’s Garden Centre recently after successfully completing two days of WorldSBK testing held at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve near Portimao, Portugal between the 24th and 25th of August .
Four-time World Champion Jonathan paid us a visit with his family and friends to relax and unwind.
We were delighted to welcome Jonathan to Coleman’s Garden Centre and wish him all the best for the rest of the 2019 championship and hopefully a record breaking fifth championship in a row.

Coming only two weeks before the Portimao round of the championship this test was used by Rea and the KRT team to find the best set-up for the rapidly approaching race weekend, but also to try out some development and set-up ideas for the 2020 WorldSBK season.

Jonathan, Jake and Tyler took time out with Laura from our Garden Centre team to examine one of our sports models but we are not sure if any of the three of them could get our vintage 1941 David Brown tractor up to the top speeds required to be World Superbike champion but Jake and Tyler were prepared to give it a go – like father like son(s).

Our VAK 1 1941 David Brown Tractor  would have cost around £300 brand new in 1941… a quick look online and a 2014 used one would cost over £90,000 plus VAT! It has a top speed of 25 MPH and runs on a petrol paraffin mix….not sure this would keep Jonathan at the top of the leader board!

‘Keep her lit’.
