Shrove Tuesday, as the day before Lent, is seen by many as the ideal time to use up left over milk, sugar, flour and eggs. But at Coleman’s Garden Centre Head Chef Paul Glass will be cooking up some fantastic pancakes, using always the best of local ingredients on this date, to celebrate this fun food day !

In the home, as well as being useful for using up ingredients, some people also believe the makings of a pancake also hold traditional symbolic meaning. The white of the milk in pancakes is seen by some to symbolise purity, while flour represents life.

Right now in our Farm Shop we have the perfect selection of pancake toppings for you to enjoy at home – choose from caramel spread, chocolate spread, peanut butter or the award winning Michael Young Honey…yummy

Join us next Tuesday for a fun filled day of pancakes and treats !
